The classic boater (or skimmer, cady or can-can, as it is sometimes known) has become synonymous with quintessentially British social events. Crafted from stiff sisal straw to retain its classic boater shape for years to come.
The boater is finished with a smart black Petersham ribbon, the hat has a leather inner sweatband so it stays firmly in place.
Steam from a household kettle and a hard bristle hat brush or clean pencil rubber will help remove dust and dirt.
Avoid wearing a straw hat in the rain. If it gets wet, dry using a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge. Straw hats are best stored in a hat box, away from direct sunlight.
