Care

Always handle your Panama hat by the brim to avoid distorting the crown.

Avoid wearing a Panama in the rain. Dry with a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge if it gets wet.

Spot clean using a damp cloth and leave to dry at room temperature. Or alternatively, steam from a household kettle and a soft bristle hat brush or a clean pencil rubber will help remove dust and dirt.

Should your hat shrink in size, a hat jack can be used to stretch it back to its original shape.

Panama hats are best stored in a hat box, away from direct sunlight.

Be very gentle with this hat. Regular steams are highly recommended, bring your Lock & Co. Panama hat to us for a complimentary steam whilst you wait. We use a specialist steamer to refresh hats. This typically takes five minutes, depending on how busy the shop is.

Materials

This Panama is handwoven in Ecuador by artisans using skills passed down for generations. Woven from the finest toquilla-palm fibres, Lock & Co. Panamas are blocked by hand in Spain using traditional methods, then trimmed with a rust galoon ribbon and finished with a light wool sweatband.

The Jesse Panama hat is made from natural straw that has UPF50 protection, keeping you covered from the sun in more ways than one.

Styling & Fitting

Always handle your Panama hat by the brim to avoid distorting the crown. Your Panama should comfortably fit midway down your forehead above your eyebrows, but without obstructing your view in any way.
