The Coke is one of Lock & Co.'s most enduring hat styles.

The Coke is a very distinctive style thanks to its domed crown and curled brim. Lock & Co. created the iconic Coke hat (also known as the Bowler hat) in 1849 after being commissioned by Edward Coke to create a hat hardy enough to protect his gamekeepers. Today, the classic design remains popular as both a men's bowler hat and a women's bowler hat, blending timeless style with versatile wear.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Measurements
  • Curled Brim Length: 5 cm
  • Crown Height: 11.5 cm
  • Band Width: 2 cm
Care

Using a soft bristle hat brush, gently stroke the hat in a short, anti-clockwise motion. This will remove any dust caught on the fur fibres.

Always store cokes in a hat box, away from direct sunlight.

Materials

The Coke hat is made of stiffened rabbit felt, is fully lined, has a leather inner sweatband, and is finished with a grosgrain band.

Styling & Fitting

Classically, a coke hat should be worn placed evenly on top of the head with sides about 2 inches above the ears. It should not rest on your ears.

To ensure the perfect fit, please book an appointment in our London hat shop to have your head measured with the conformateur.

The Town Coke comes with a complimentary white Lock & Co. hat box.
