Care

Always handle your Panama hat by the brim to avoid distorting the crown.

Spot-clean using a damp cloth and leave to dry at room temperature. Or alternatively steam from a household kettle and a soft bristle hat brush or a clean pencil rubber will help remove dust and dirt.

Avoid wearing a Panama hat in the rain. Dry with a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge if it gets wet.

Should your hat shrink in size, a hat jack can be used to stretch it back to its original shape.

Panama hats are best stored in a hat box, away from direct sunlight.

Be very gentle with this hat; Regular steams are highly recommended, bring your Lock & Co. Panama hat to us for a complimentary steam whilst you wait. We use a specialist steamer to refresh hats. This typically takes five minutes, depending on how busy our shop is.

Materials

Handwoven in Ecuador by craftsmen and craftswomen using skills passed down for generations from the finest toquilla-palm fibres that has UPF50 protection. Lock & Co. Panamas are blocked by hand using traditional methods, then trimmed with fine band, and finished with a beautifully soft leather sweatband.

Styling & Fitting

The style is perfectly proportioned – the brim is not too wide; the crown is not too high – and so it fits well and suits most people.

Angle this hat to suit your mood and the occasion. Your Panama should comfortably sit midway down your forehead above your eyebrows, but without obstructing your view in any way.

This style comes with a complementary hat box and is also available in natural .
