We are incredibly proud of our team at Lock & Co. Hatters, working together to ensure we deliver quality products, exceptional service, and a wonderful ownership experience - for everyone, everywhere. We currently have 33 people who work for the business, in all different areas, and we would like to introduce you to some of them.

Ben

Meet our Managing Director Ben, who joined Lock & Co. Hatters in 2016.

Ben has over 25 years' experience in the retail industry. He is responsible for directing the company's operations and provides strategic guidance and direction to the board to ensure the company achieves its overall mission and objectives.

Ben leads our Lock & Co. Hatters family in all areas of the business, ensuring our teams deliver the exceptional experience our customers have come to expect.

On working as Managing Director at Lock & Co. Hatters, Ben says: "When you turn the brass door handle on the original door and walk in, you'll find that the shop has barely changed since the early 1700s; the feel, the look and - dare I say it - the smell of it. The slightly creaky floorboards, it's all magic - it feels like stepping back in time. We are very fortunate to work for such a special business."

Meet our Managing Director Ben, who joined Lock & Co. Hatters in 2016.

Harjot
Finance Assistant

Meet our Finance Assistant Harjot, who supports our Financial Controller. On a day-to-day basis, Harjot manages the money we bring into the business and checks what we need to pay out. Harjot runs key financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis and communicates the findings to the rest of the business.

Eliska
Hatsmith

Meet Eliska, our Hatsmith. Eliska looks after our soft repairs using her skills to showcase outstanding renovations.

Max
Shop Manager

Meet our Shop Manager, Max, whose role is to coach, motivate, and guide our retail team to deliver exceptional service for our customers. Max ensures the smooth and efficient running of the store, drives sales, and motivates the sales team whilst leading by example.

Katrina
Customer Service Manager

Meet Katrina, our customer service manager. Katrina plays a vital role in ensuring that Lock & Co. Hatters maintains strong relationships with our customers by delivering high-quality support and resolving issues effectively. Katrina’s role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills to help build trust in the brand and contribute to the overall success of the business.

Joanne
Stylist

Meet one of our Stylists, Joanne, who has worked for Lock & Co. Hatters since September 2024. Joanne provides excellent customer service to our clients at all times by identifying their buying needs, offering her expertise on our lady’s hats, and processing any sales efficiently, whilst putting the customer as the focus of everything we do. Joanne uses the company’s shared values to exceed her client’s expectations and shares her knowledge on our rich history and heritage. 

Kimiko
Milliner

Meet one of our fantastic Milliners, Kimiko, who works in our atelier creating our Couture pieces. Kimiko ensures that all work is completed to the highest of standards and that each piece made is signed off by our Millinery Manager and Head Designer. Kimiko is always keeping in contact with our sales team to ensure that we are getting things just right for our customers.

Freddie
Hatter

Meet one of our Hatters, Freddie, who has worked for Lock & Co. Hatters since March 2025. Freddie provides excellent customer
service to our clients at all times by identifying their buying needs, offering his expertise on our men’s hats, and processing any sales efficiently, whilst putting the customer as the focus of everything he does. Freddie is working on a special 350th anniversary project for the business that will be unveiled later this year.

Jessica
Assistant Manager Ladieswear

Meet our Assistant Manager for Ladieswear Jessica who has worked in the business since September 2025. Jess leads from the front working in collaboration with her team to deliver an inspirational customer experience, whilst identifying opportunities to drive customer loyalty. Jessica is passionate about her team, ensuring they feel valued, and is always looking at ways to support them in their careers at Lock & Co. Hatters.

Tierney
Website Manager

Meet our Website Manager, Tierney, who plays a key role in shaping the digital presence of Lock & Co. Since joining the business, Tierney has been responsible for enhancing the online customer experience, ensuring the website reflects the brand’s heritage whilst meeting the expectations of a modern, global audience. With a focus on performance, content, and international growth, Tierney works across teams to drive innovation and support the continued evolution of the brand online.

Izzy
Apprentice Milliner

Meet our apprentice Milliner Izzy Ager who has worked for Lock & Co. Hatters since October 2025. Izzy gained her needlework experience from the Royal School of Needlework (RSN) and joined us for work experience in 2024. The business saw Izzy’s exceptional eye for detail and meticulous accuracy, and so she joined the Millinery team as our first Apprentice Milliner in 2025.

James
Hatter

Meet one of our Hatters, James, who has worked for Lock & Co. Hatters since May 2025. With a particular passion for Boater
hats, James is dedicated to championing this timeless style and introducing it to a wider audience. He delivers exceptional customer service by understanding each client’s needs, sharing his expert knowledge of our collections, and ensuring every sale is handled smoothly and efficiently.

DESIGNERS

Awon brings a wealth of experience in the millinery industry to her creative talent, which was recognised by the British Fashion Council when she was invited to showcase at London Fashion Week. She has clients such as the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, Lady Gaga, and Kylie Minogue, and is known for her unique and beautiful headpieces and hats that are modern and inspired by catwalk trends.

MEET THE CHAIRMAN

After 46 years of exceptional service Nigel C. Lock Macdonald has stepped down as Chairman of Lock & Co.

We warmly welcome our new Chairman, Jason Roberts.

Jason is a senior retail leader with over three decades of experience leading people,
shaping strategies, and driving change in blue-chip retailers including, the Walt Disney Corporation, Uniqlo, and Bang & Olufsen.

Jason is the first person outside the family to hold the position of Chairman of Lock & Co.

MEET THE DEPUTY CHAIRMAN

As a family member, and having been involved with Lock’s for over thirty years, I take immense pride in being part of such a longstanding business. I feel that our longevity is a result of our commitment to excellent quality and service, which is a reflection on everyone who works here.
It is an honour to work with a great team who I think of as an extended “Lock” family rather than just colleagues.
It is my hope that the business will continue for many years to come and that my family will help lead it into the future.
